Renata De Andrade
My work consists mostly of assemblages made with garbage and discarded things, but I also make three-dimensional paintings, photographs, installations, posters, text graffiti, and wall paintings.
What I want is to create visibility to a beauty that most people just pass by.
For Perambulação in Rotterdam I have made two water sculptures: one 'flower' built of colored plastic handbags filled with Styrofoam, and one 'float' built of empty colored plastic bottles and jerry cans. Both works were placed in the Singel canal in front of Mirta Demare's gallery.
